One of the crucial foundations of each traffic planning is relevant data. Therefore, along with other primary information like plans of the existing situation, of the building project and mandatory master plans (urban development plan, area utilisation plan, other master plans, development plans etc.), qualified traffic and parking space data are of particular significance for successful planning activities. As in many cases there exist no up-to-date traffic data that are relating especially to the concrete site and task, in many instants it is a part of our services to collect these.

In the course of the survey to collect the required data we preferably use video technology along with manual methods. This procedure is approved according to EVE (Recommendations for traffic surveys of the FGSV) and offers, along with less need for field staff, considerable retrospective advantages that are among others of essence the course of calculating the parking time distribution. It is thus possible to perform a repeated census and additional assessments, as the need may be.

Additionally, the video material presents an excellent basis to visualize traffic situations and traffic density. For this purpose, time-lapses are also being used. Possible are also additional assessments like calculating the driving speed and speed profiles.
